Stephanie Izard

The world may have come to know Stephanie Izard when she became the first woman to win Top Chef in 2008, but she was a star in Chicago long before Bravo came calling—she opened her first restaurant, Scylla, at the tender age of 27. Today the James Beard Award winner (Best Chef: Great Lakes) and Food & Wine Best New Chef is at the helm of three West Loop hot spots, including Girl & the Goat and Little Goat, where she’s known for seasonal fare that explores the diverse flavors of Chicago’s international communities. At her most recent venture, Duck Duck Goat, Izard takes a deep dive into the cuisine of China, offering an ambitious range of dim sum, hand-pulled noodles and the garlicky, ginger-spiked “three-cup chicken” she fell in love with on a research trip to Taiwan.
