Silver Lake Farmers Market
Farmer’s markets are a popular thing in Los Angeles but what I love about the Silverlake Farmer’s Market is its mix of food, fashion and home. While there are loads of delicious produce to choose from, there are also great vintage clothing finds, all natural home goods and delicious street food to enjoy.
The Silverlake Farmer’s Market is every Saturday morning and Tuesday afternoon, right on Sunset Blvd in a little circle near Edgecliff. It’s where the neighborhood gets together and supports local. Beyond the purchasable goods, there’s live music, entertainment for children and an overall great vibe. It’s definitely a favorite “to-do” of mine and a place I look forward to visiting.
I mostly go Saturday mornings and get an iced latte at the coffee stand before stocking up on veggies and fruit. Then, I stop at the pupusa (traditional Salvadoran dish made of a thick, handmade corn tortilla that is usually filled with a blend of cheese and meat) stand to get a chicken and veggie pupusa combo or a strawberry crepe at the crepe stand, it really depends on what I’m in the mood for that day. Both are great picks! Then after a bite, I stroll through the vintage clothing vendors before heading home. It’s a pretty perfect Saturday morning activity.
If you live in LA or plan on visiting soon, the Silverlake Farmer’s Market should definitely be a spot on your list.
